ReceiptMatch: Receipts and invoices to bank reconciliation

Put receipt/invoice text files in a folder and export your bank CSV. ReceiptMatch lists matched items, receipts with no bank line, and bank lines with no receipt.

  • Extracts vendor, date and final total (not subtotal); handles 1,240.50 and 1.240,50.
  • Matches on exact amount within a date window, vendor similarity as tiebreak.
  • AI mode is used only for receipts the rules can't read; an AI total is discarded unless that amount appears in the document.
  • Text input only (.txt/.md/.eml). Not accounting or tax advice.
python3 receiptmatch.py receipts/ bank.csv --csv result.csv

Includes source, README, sample data and unit tests. $12 one-time, or $29 for all three.

Honest limitations

  • Command-line tools (Python 3.9+, no dependencies). No web app, no hosted service, no image OCR.
  • The AI mode is optional and uses your own locally installed claude CLI (Claude Code) and your own subscription or API key. No AI access is included. In AI mode your text is sent to the model provider by that CLI.
  • AI output can be wrong. The tools check it against your source where possible and label every result as rules or agent, but you must review results.
  • Without the CLI, a simpler offline rules engine runs. It misses unusual phrasing and is tuned for English.
  • Tested on small sample files with unit tests, not benchmarked on real customer data. No accuracy is promised.
